Anchor Winch Why An Anchor Can Be Easily Raised?

Why an anchor can be easily raised? - anchor winch

An anchor includes a large ship into force, which means that there is a large closing force. My question is why a relatively small Council with a force attack can be so great and easy to sail?

It's all about angles. When a ship was launched at anchor, chain / line many times the water depth. Thus, the boat pulls the anchor deeper causes, the increase of the magnetic force. But when the ship carrying the anchor, and finally, the 90-degree angle, and the movement of the ship, in fact, the brake armature free, and it is relatively easy to raise transport and storage.

brings in small boats anchored in power.
In large vessels anchor is important, but actually let the weight of the chain, which really is the retention capacity.
The rule for the anchoring of large vessels are allowed to 5 to 7 times the height of the chain since leaving the water-depth.
For example, if the water reaches a depth of 40 feet, then fell 200 meters to 280 meters of the chain.

The anchor works because it pulls against the flat on the floor of the sea If you have raised, moving the ship directly over them and throw them vertically. The anchor is not designed to resist this force and interruptions.

Richard C is correct. As the winch pulls the anchor, the boat moves forward. When the ship is located directly above the anchor and pull on the anchor ends and remove standing horse. The holding force of the armature is defined by the angle.
